RICHMOND & SPRING GROVE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

(INFORMATION UPDATED AS OF 04/22/2020)
We have scheduled a packet pick up day for Thursday, April 30, 2020 from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m.

{Students who will require a packet to be picked up are ALL students in Kindergarten and 1st Grade, students who have an IEP for reading or math, students who see a reading specialist, students who receive OT services, or any student who requires a paper packet in grades 2-5 )

RGS Administration will provide you with specific instructions on April 29th as to where on the RGS property you will be able to pick up packets, medications, skating money, desk supplies, and/or drop off library books.

Nippersink School District 2 will be offering our students eLearning during this unprecedented school closure. The following information will guide you on what to expect beginning the week of March 30, 2020.

  1. All students are expected to participate daily in eLearning learning days.
  2. Parents/Guardians will receive a daily email from the district to account for your student’s attendance. The form will also be posted to Skyward every day. Please take a moment to fill out the form daily.
  3. Please email your school’s nurse to report absences due to illness during this time.
    RGS: Kim Hunt: khunt@nsd2.com
    SGE: Brandi Johnson: bjohnson@nsd2.com
  4. Teachers will email the parent/guardian by 8:45 AM with the assignments for the day. You may receive more than one email if your child receives additional services (ex. speech/OT/other related services).
  5. Staff will be available for questions through email daily March 30 - May 28, 2020 from 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM.
  • All Kindergarten and 1st Grade assignments should be accessible to parents in the packets that were picked up. K-1 students should not have any assignments online. If you chose to access an app or site suggested, that is by parent choice. *Mrs. Stacey might suggest a web activity, but this would only be once a week when your child has computers for their special.
  • Daily assignments can be worked on anytime throughout the day. Teachers are available from 8:30-1:30 to assist with any questions, but you are free to have your child work at whatever time works best for you.
  • Daily assignments are not “due” by a certain time of the day and can be worked on at whatever time works best for your family. All work your child does is to keep them engaged in learning and to help them improve their performance. If you are not able to finish something, your child will not have a grade that is negatively impacted because of it.
  • If you feel your child has been taking too long to complete an assignment, or if it is turning into a stressful situation, it is okay to either revisit the assignment later, or step away from it altogether.
  • If you are unsure of where to find assignments, or are confused by where you should be looking for work, please reach out to your child’s teacher. Our staff is here to help you and want to make this as smooth of a process as it can be.
  • Our remaining three ePlanning Days will be utilized on May 1st, May 8th, and May 15th. On these days your child will not receive an assignment from his or her teacher and you will not be asked to record their attendance.
  • Summer School has been cancelled for all students.
